The EtherCAT technology has been specially optimized for speed, flexibility and precision. Every sensor, every I/O device and every embedded controller is supposed to be able to integrate an EtherCAT connection at a low cost. Carrying out conformity tests ensures the interoperability and compatibility of EtherCAT devices from different manufacturers. The correct behavior of a device is checked so that errors in the implementation process can already be detected and rectified during the development stage.
